Who am I & why trust my book picks?

Hi, I’m Nadine — a Canadian teacher heading into my 20+ years of teaching upper elementary. I’m currently teaching in Brazil, and one thing hasn’t changed wherever I go: kids need the right book to truly fall in love with reading.

I started Kittoreads because I cannot stop recommending books — to students, to colleagues, to parents. Over the years, I’ve learned how to hook even the most reluctant reader, and how to help families avoid the trap of choosing books that are “too hard,” too dense, or too discouraging for growing readers.

What you’ll find here

Real, honest middle grade recs from someone who reads a ton of them. Books that represent different identities, personalities, and reading levels — because kids don’t come in one shape, and neither should their shelves. Parents, teachers, or anyone who knows a middle grade kid (ages 8–13). And remember — a good story doesn’t stop being good just because you’re over 13. 😉
